Who are we? First off, we're not "pros." Far from it. Riding is our passion and to turn it into a job would go against the spirit of it all. At one point, we were all pretty serious racers, but the sport has changed and so have we. We shred hard, we do some fun races, we give back, but this team is not about riding for dollars.

"Well before I got my drivers license--or even my permit--I was a mountain biker. For most of my 15 years on knobbies, I was singularly focused on racing, and there's still part of me that loves the intensity of competition. Last Summer, I raced the Trestle All-Mountain Enduro and realized that there needed to be more balance. That's the spark that ignited the toasty bonfire of The BFBC, and I want to share the light with all the subcategories of the mountain biking world. Aside from riding, I worked in a bike shop through high school and college, organized my collegiate bike team, interned at USA Cycling, worked for five years at IMBA, volunteered for five years as director of the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference and lent a hand in many other ways--trailwork, advocacy, you name it."

"I started riding during my senior year of high school when a good friend convinced me to ride mountain bikes with him. On that borrowed bike, I had the most fun ever. A few years and a few bikes later, I fully immersed myself with the goal of being a pro road racer. I made it to category 1 but decided to call it quits in 2008. In 2010, I did a few cross-country marathon mountain bike races, and that was fun, but not as fun as riding my 6-inch travel trail bike. Currently, I ride that thing as much as possible, race cyclocross after the lifts close and volunteer with the Fairview High School Mountain Bike Team."

"I spend my 9-5 hours creating a better future for bicycling at the industry nonprofit, Bikes Belong. Flowy backcountry trails, pump tracks, itty bitty dirt jumps, and apres-ride Oskar Blues beers are a few of my favorite things. I discovered the magical world of bicycle riding while in college, where I helped run the cycling team. Cyclocross is one of my first loves: I helped found the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Cyclocross series in 2006 and will teach anyone and everyone how to jump on and off their bike. My goal for 2012 is to introduce as many women to riding at Trestle Bike Park as I can, as Trestle was where I finally learned to love my mountain bike (after being kinda-sorta-terrified to ride one for many years). My belief is that mountain biking should only incite tears of joy, not tears of frustration and fear."
