Chips 4 Kids

There's a huge fundraiser called Chips 4 Kids on Saturday, April 28th at Boulder Indoor Cycling. It's going to be a casino night with a silent auction benefiting Trips for Kids. The Trips for Kids program introduces mountain biking and the outdoors to children that otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to do so. Come support all the hard work that BFBC members Jenny, Greg, CT, and others have put in to this sure-to-be-awesome night!

Youngn's

Check out this pile of bikes. A few Saturdays ago, I helped the Boulder Parks & Rec department and other volunteers perform some routine maintenance on a bunch of children's bikes. They are from low-income housing residents around the city. The department collected them from the kids. With the additional ones donated by city residents, they'll fix and re-distribute them. This way, as the kids grow, they'll have a bike that fits and is safe and fun to ride.

Riding. Fixes. Everything.

You know that feeling. It's a little stress, maybe some argument at home or work has you flustered. Maybe you got denied a promotion or job. Whatever that feeling is, there is always something to alleviate the pain. It usually kicks in at the top of a climb, one berm into your favorite trail, or even just cruising the bike path.

All of that stress goes away.

That's because: Riding. Fixes. Everything.

Kali Protectives, Keeping BFBC in One Piece

We want to give a shout-out to another awesome Best Friends Bike Club partner, Kali Protectives. We just got a motherload of a shipment from these good folks, and we are pumped to have them protecting our melons, elbows, knees and pretty much anything else with their dope helmets and armor. The BFBC has an awesome mix of riders—some gear up with a full-face and pads to shred the downhill tracks, while others are cool with just a big day out in the mountains. Similarly, Kali has a great mix of products for whatever style of mountain biking you like. Best of all, they've got a crazy array of different colors and graphics, so you know you'll be looking fresh when you post up at the trailhead. Oh, and for those of you who like bikes of the motorized variety, they also make some sick DOT-approved helmets for throttle-twisting. Thanks again, Kali!
